Ed-tech company continues to invest in strengthening its offering with appointment of new CTO, Julius Uy
Local tech talent Julius Uy has joined Kydon Group, the Singapore-based Learning Technology provider as Chief Technology Officer of ZilLearn.
Prior to Kydon, Julius was the Vice President of Software Engineering at Hubble, a Series-A invested construction technology company. In that role, he led 35 engineers from four countries and drove coordination and alignment across multiple product lines and departments.
Julius has previously headed the Mobile and TV engineering teams at Rakuten Viki and developed products that were featured in Google I/O, WWDC, several Google case studies, Android Excellence, and in several news sites and tech blogs. He worked on projects such as Siri, Apple TV, Android TV, Roku, Google Play Instant, Google Home, Chromecast, Chrome OS, and Smart Displays.
Julius is also the chapter lead of Google Developer Group in Singapore and he mentors Software Engineering Leaders at Plato. He is a frequent global speaker at tech events such as DroidCon, Google I/O Extended, Cloud Next Extended, and DevFest.
“I have known and admired Julius’ talent and contribution to the tech world for several years, and I was extremely pleased when he decided to join us to disrupt education through ZilLearn,” said David Yeo, CEO, and founder of Kydon Group. “Julius will bring his knowledge and experience in both the B2B and B2C technology space and help us push the boundary further.”
“There are not a lot of investments in this world where value can snowball into a lifetime’s worth of benefits. Education is certainly one of them. Being able to work with David and the rest of the team to improve access to quality content for everyone is a tremendous opportunity to make a lasting impact and I’m very excited to look into what we can achieve together,” said Julius Uy, Chief Technology Officer of Kydon Group.
